A man was injured after his car plunged to the ground floor parking lot of Seremban Gateway shopping centre on Tuesday.

The incident occurred about an hour after the 24-year-old victim had gone to the mall at 4.30pm, according to District police chief Assistant Commissioner Thiew Hock Poh.

At 5.30pm, the man went back to his Proton Persona on the first floor of the parking lot. While he was reversing his car, he hit a Nissan Almera parked behind his vehicle.

“He then drove to the front without realising that it was a void, causing his car to plunge to the parking lot down below,” Thiew was quoted saying.

The man reportedly sustained minor injuries to his hand and a bruise under his eye.

The incident also damaged another vehicle parked on the ground floor due to the debris from the crash.

Thiew said the victim was treated at a private clinic and the case is being investigated.
