Police have located the whereabouts of the woman detainee who escaped from their custody yesterday, Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan said today.
He said the 23-year-old woman is believed to be still in Pahang and the police have launched an operation to track down the suspect, who has four previous records for drug-related offences.
“We have also intensified the hunt for the man who helped her escape,” he told Bernama at Majlis Kenduri Rakyat Felda Keratong at Dewan Semai Bakti today.
The woman escaped from police custody by jumping onto a waiting motorcycle at the Raub Court compound.
The incident happened as she was about to get into a police truck after a court proceeding, when she jumped onto the motorcycle believed to be ridden by her boyfriend.
The police have identified the man as Mohamad Rejab Ali, 22, from Kampung Pulau Kabong Budu, Benta, Lipis.
