New cases triple from yesterday’s figure.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) reported 94 new Covid-19 cases today, with 72 of those were imported from Malaysians returning from Indonesia.
This is slightly more than triple the number of new cases yesterday, which was the lowest since the Movement Control Order (MCO) was enforced, at 31.
With new local cases at a new low record of just 22 cases, it is the lowest since the MCO was implemented.
The total number of Covid 19 cases now stand at 5,945 and 100 deaths, with no new deaths reported today.
In a press conference on Covid-19 updates today, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said another 55 have recovered and discharged from hospitals.
This brings the total number of patients who have recovered from the virus to 4,087 or 68.7 percent of the total number of positive cases.
Forty Covid-19 patients are currently in the intensive care unit (ICU), with 18 needing respiratory assistance.
