Covid-19: Malaysia Records 106 New Cases

A total of 106 new cases recorded as at noon today bringing the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia to 1,624 individuals with 15 fatalities after one more death reported.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said based on the initial investigation, 43 of the new cases were linked to the Seri Petaling tabligh convention cluster.

“The remaining 63 are related to other clusters and are still under investigation for confirmation,” he said in a statement.

He added that 24 cases had recovered and were discharged today, bringing the total number of cured cases to 183.

He said 64 Covid-19 positive patients were currently under treatment in the intensive care unit with 27 needing respiratory aid.

To date, Selangor has the highest number of Covid-19 cases at 381, followed by Kuala Lumpur (257), Sabah (170), and Johor (162).

Negri Sembilan has recorded 109 cases, Perak (98), Sarawak (83), Kelantan (78), Penang (68), Kedah (64), Pahang (56), Terengganu (38), Melaka (31), Putrajaya (15), Perlis (9) and Labuan (5).
