Gobind Singh Deo has been appointed as DAP’s new national chairman for the 2025-2028 term, succeeding Lim Guan Eng, who now serves as the party’s national adviser. Nga Kor Ming, previously the national vice-chairman, has been promoted to deputy chairman.

The newly appointed vice-chairpersons are Chong Chieng Jen, Teo Nie Ching, Ng Suee Lim, Syahredzan Johan, and Arul Kumar Jambunathan.
Anthony Loke remains secretary-general, supported by deputies Steven Sim, Hannah Yeoh, and Ramkarpal Singh. Ngeh Koo Ham is the new national treasurer, and Ng Sze Han is the assistant treasurer.
Khoo Poay Tiong has been named organising secretary, assisted by Lee Chin Chen and Tan Hong Pin. Yeo Bee Yin takes on the role of national publicity secretary, with Young Syefura Othman and Wong Shu Qi as assistants. Kasthuriraani Patto has been appointed international secretary, assisted by Alice Lau Kiong Yieng.
Howard Lee is the new national political education director, with Vivian Wong Shir Yee as his deputy. Three new roles were introduced: strategic director (Liew Chin Tong), policy director (Chan Foong Hin), and election director (Wong Kah Woh). Loke proposed these positions be officially incorporated into the party constitution.
Other CEC members elected include Teo Kok Seong, Chow Kon Yeow, and Liow Cai Tung.
Loke, announcing the new line-up, said the appointments were made unanimously in a 30-minute meeting of the newly elected CEC. He also mentioned that the position of parliamentary leader would be decided in the next meeting and that no additional members had been co-opted into the CEC at this stage.
Gobind expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as chairman and emphasised the importance of unity within the party.
“I have made it clear to the CEC members that we must ensure greater unity in the party for the sake of its future. Now, let us move forward, strengthen the party, and take DAP to greater heights,” he said.
When approached by the media, Guan Eng said he accepted the election results.
“I respect the decision of the delegates. My future has been determined by my party members, not by outsiders. It is time for us to unite under the new leadership,” he said.

Asked about his role in DAP moving forward, he responded, “This is not my moment. Any questions should be directed to Loke.”
