Charged with unauthorised access to computer to access minutes of Royal Lake Club meetings.

Businesswoman Datuk Nika Gee Siew Yee was charged in a Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur on Friday with accessing a computer without authorisation two years ago.

Gee, 56, was accused of unauthorised access to a computer belonging to IT manager Brian Periera, 32, with the intent to access three files pertaining to Kelab Taman Perdana Diraja (Royal Lake Club) minutes of meetings.

The offence was allegedly committed at the club in Taman Perdana in Kuala Lumpur between 8am and 5pm on Sept 29, 2015.

She was charged under Section 3(1) of the Computer Crimes Act 1997 which carries a maximum fine of RM50,000 or five years’ imprisonment, or both, upon conviction.

Gee, dressed in a black coat, then claimed trial before judge Zaman Mohd Noor.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Noor Jazilah Mohd Yushaa offered bail at RM8,000.

Gee’s counsel R Ramesh Sivakumar pleaded for RM5,000 bail, saying his client was not a flight risk.

The court set bail at RM5,000 bail with one surety and set an additional condition, cautioning the accused against disturbing or threatening the prosecution witness.

The court fixed May 18 for mention.

The case had captured significant media attention, as Gee has been linked to Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin.

Muhyiddin has, however, denied allegations of an affair between him and Gee.

It was reported in September 2016 that Gee’s marriage to former senior DPP Stanley Clement Augustin had ended in divorce.

Muhyiddin was not mentioned in the case today.
