An unemployed man, the son of a businessman with a Datuk title, was found dead with a gunshot wound in Shah Alam.
The 26-year-old man was found dead in a room at his father’s bungalow in Section 9 on Oct 24.
A shotgun belonging to the businessman was found next to the deceased.
“Preliminary investigations showed that their maid had heard a gunshot coming from the master bedroom. She opened the door and discovered him lying in a pool of blood. The shotgun was found next to him. His grandmother was also home when the incident happened.
“According to his family, he had been suffering from depression for several months. We have classified this case as sudden death. The body was sent to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for a postmortem,” Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shafien Mamat said in a statement.
On July 25, in a similar case, an engineer of a government-linked company was found dead with a gunshot wound in Section 7, Shah Alam.
The 50-year-old man who worked for Permodalan Nasional Berhad and held a firearms licence was found lying motionless in a bathroom with his shotgun next to him.
The case was also classified as sudden death.
