Dr Mahathir Mohamad is at the Bersatu headquarters in Petaling Jaya ahead of a press conference called by secretary-general Hamzah Zainuddin.
The disputed Bersatu chairman arrived at the party’s headquarters in Petaling Jaya at about 2.30 pm, daring the party’s officials to personally tell him that he has been expelled as a member.
He did not speak to waiting reporters.
The former prime minister posted a Facebook video of him entering the Bersatu headquarters and the office of the chairman.
“I am at the Bersatu headquarters. They say they want to expel me, I am waiting at the office,” he said as a caption to the post.
Mukhriz, too, is present at the party headquarters today, and so is Petaling Jaya district police chief Nik Izanee Mohd Faisal, who is monitoring the situation.
It is unclear if Dr Mahathir will hold a press conference. Hamzah is scheduled to address the media at 4pm.
