The police have arrested two men believed to be involved in the assault on a kiosk attendant at a petrol station in Sungkai earlier this month.
Perak Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Asst Comm Yahya Abd Rahman said the first suspect, 40, was arrested in front of his house in Sri Sentosa Batu 6, Jalan Klang Lama, Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday at about 9.45pm.
“He has a previous record under Section 324 of the Penal code for causing harm.
“He will be remanded until Oct 21,” SAC Yahya said in a statement on Thursday (Oct 18) night.
“The second suspect surrendered himself at the Tapah police station on Thursday at about 4.25pm.
“The 25-year-old businessman from Cheras was accompanied by a lawyer,” he added.
In the Oct 6 incident, a 23-year-old petrol station worker was assaulted by a group of men after a minor misunderstanding.

The attack was captured on CCTV and the footage subsequently went viral on social media.
The viral footage shows the Petronas employee being dragged out of the cashier area by a group of men, some wearing motorcycle helmets, who then slapped and kicked the victim to the ground at 12.45am. Several objects were also thrown at him.
It is understood that one of the men had failed to inform the attendant that he wanted to refuel with RON97 petrol, instead of RON95.
The miscommunication infuriated the man, who launched the assault, even though the victim had apologised to him.
The 24-year-old attendant, from Kampung Changkat Sulaiman, suffered bruises and pains and lodged a police report on the incident.
SAC Yahya said the case would be investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting.
