Authorities are withholding the name of the victim who was waiting for his son at the time.

The brazen incident took place in front of several parents and passers-by who were also waiting for the school’s afternoon session to end.

CID chief Senior Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat said on Thursday night that a passer-by was injured during the shooting, adding that the man is in stable condition.

“The victim was shot dead by two suspects who have yet to be identified.

“Investigations also showed that the victim was waiting for his child to leave the school at the time of the incident,” said SAC Fadzil.

He added that the injured survivor is a man in his 30s, adding that the man is believed to have been waiting for his child to finish school.

A woman was reportedly also injured in the incident, believed to be as a result of stray bullets or ricochets.

Investigations are still ongoing and the case is being classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

A witness to the incident, who alerted police, said he saw the two motorcyclists shoot the man but was not able to note down the motorcycle registration number, the New Straits Times reported.

“It happened in the blink of an eye…all I saw was two men on a motorcycle, wearing black clothes and black crash helmets.”

The witness, who works at Universiti Putra Malaysia and wanted to be known only as Kamal, said he was waiting for his children in front of the school when the shooting occurred.

“I heard four or five shots…it happened too fast, too sudden; so, I did not remember the registration number of the motorcycle.

“Some parents who were also waiting for their children were shocked and fled the chaotic scene while some checked on the victims.

“I then immediately called the Serdang police station to inform them of the incident,” he said.
