Najib says the MRT line is the “most modern” MRT system in the world, better than London, New York, Hong Kong, and on par with Singapore.
Commuters on the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Monorail lines will enjoy 50 percent off their fares from tomorrow until Merdeka Day, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced today.
He was speaking at the launching of the second phase of the MRT1 at the Tun Razak Exchange station.
He also announced that the MRT1 second phase, running from Muzium Negara to Kajang, will be free for all members of the public when it opens its gates from 4pm until the end of its operations for today.
“I asked someone recently, to rate our MRT, where do we stand compared to others. The person said we are better than London, New York, or Hong Kong. And on par with Singapore,” Najib shared at the launching.
He also touted the MRT line as the newest and “most modern” MRT system in the world.
