Like a scene in an action film, a car chase that led to a suspected criminal ramming his vehicle into a patrol car and dodging a hail of bullets while escaping.

A suspected criminal managed to dodge nine shots fired by the police and later fled on foot following a pursuit early on Thursday morning.
The lone suspect was spotted driving a silver Proton Persona along Old Klang Road at 4.25am. Officers in a patrol car stopped him for suspicious behaviour.
City police chief Commissioner Datuk Mazlan Lazim said as the cops came closer, the suspect floored the car and sped off.
A chase then ensued and backup was called. The chase led to the Petaling Jaya area, near Taman Medan, where four backup police cars were deployed in an attempt to apprehend the suspect.
“The suspect refused to cooperate and rammed into a police car as he tried to escape.
“Officers were left with no choice but to open fire, as several shots struck the suspect’s wheels as he fled,” he said.
Mazlan said the suspect then managed to flee on foot into a bushy area nearby.
“We believe he could be familiar with the area as he managed to escape quickly.
“We are still in the midst of hunting down the suspect and those with information are urged to inform the police immediately,” he said.Mazlan added that the suspect abandoned his car near Jalan PJS 5 shortly after the shots were fired.
Investigators are working towards establishing the suspect’s motive in attacking the policemen and any possible illegal activities he could be involved in.A video of the shooting has made its way unto social media.In the video, police sirens are blasting in the background as patrol cars attempt to corner the suspect, with officers shouting for the suspect to exit the vehicle.
However, the suspect suddenly reverses before crashing into one of the police cars.
Shots are heard, and the suspect’s car can be seen speeding away while the police follow closely behind.
