Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun has called on Malaysians to remain calm, warning against violence following the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim last night.
“The police would like to advise the public not to take matters into their own hands in any way that can cause unrest, especially racial and religious tension.

Selangor deputy police chief DCP Datuk AB Rashid AB Wahab reportedly said they had almost 400 policemen on standby in the vicinity of the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman temple and the temple landowner’s office at the nearby One City Business Complex.
Trouble at the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Subang Jaya began on the morning of Nov 26 when a clash broke out between two groups of people, with the riot defused only when police arrived.
The next day saw the incident which would eventually cost Muhammad Adib’s life.
Some Malaysians have taken to social media to vent their anger at the fireman’s death, for which they blame the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman temple committee.
