They are expected to be charged at the Shah Alam Sessions Court tomorrow morning.

According to sources, the retail chain’s former supplier, Xin Jian Chang Sdn Bhd, will also be among those charged.

Federal police Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the case was being investigated under Section 298A of the Penal Code for issues related to religion, causing disharmony, disunity, or hatred, malicious intent, or detrimental to unity.

This is punishable with up to one year in jail, a fine, or both.

Additionally, it is understood that those from Xin Jian Chang would be charged under Section 109 of the Penal Code for abetment.

Section 109 states that the punishment for abetting a crime, unless specified, will be the same as the actual offence.
