A dispute following a minor road accident caught on a dashcam goes viral on social media, while police subsequently detain the bully for assaulting the brothers.
Facebook user Jimmy Soo posted the two-minute video which starts with the victim parked in front of a shoplot when a Proton car makes a U-turn and hits the victim’s car. The victim gives chase.
The video then cuts to a flyover where the Proton stops at a traffic light and the victim gets out to inspect the damage to his vehicle.
It is then that a passenger from the Proton alights and grabs an object from the driver’s side of the car and charges at the victim.
A scuffle ensues out of view of the dashcam.
“The incident happened on Feb 10 at around 1.18pm while I was waiting in front of a shop at Kuchai Avenue,” Soo claimed in the post.
He said he was waiting in his car for his brother in front of a row of shophouses when a Proton made a U-turn and hit his bumper before driving off.
He alleged that he honked but the driver ignored him and drove off.
His brother arrived at the same time and they pursued the Proton for about 400 metres before they came to a halt at the junction.
“My brother went to inspect the damage when one of the passengers got out, walked towards the driver’s side before he started charging at my brother,” Soo alleged in the post.
He said moments later, the driver and another passenger stepped out and watched the attack but did not bother stopping the attacker.
Soo said he too rushed out to stop the attack but was assaulted by the man.
“My brother fell on his side and was stabbed by the attacker. I was not spared. The attacker came around throwing punches and smashed my spectacles, causing injuries to my face, while I attempted to reason with him,” he claimed in the post.
He also posted photos of his brother’s stab wound to the thigh, believed to have been inflicted with a penknife, and the bruises on his face as well as a police report.
Kuala Lumpur police launched a hunt for the suspects and an alert sent out to police nationwide led to the arrest of the assailant on Monday by Selangor police.

It is believed that on arresting the man, he was found in possession of drugs and was detained for investigations for the offence.
The suspect is expected to be handed over to Brickfields police for investigations over the attack on the brothers.
