Not know what was discussed between the two political leaders.
DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has confirmed that he met with Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi over the statements of Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Salleh on the sale of socks with the word “Allah” at KK Super Mart convenience stores.
Loke, however, refused to divulge what was discussed between the two political leaders.
“I have met Ahmad Zahid, but that is between him and I,” he said at a press conference at the Transport Ministry’s headquarters, on Friday (March 22).
Previously, Loke had shared DAP’s views with Zahid during a breaking-fast event at Istana Negara on Monday (March 18).
On March 19, Loke called on all politicians to build bridges instead of escalating situations when sensitive issues arise.
He also said that DAP did not agree with the approach by Akmal as KK Mart had apologised and acknowledged their mistake.
Following Loke’s reply, Akmal stressed that he would not back down to any non-Muslim political leader on the socks issue and would continue his stand to urge the public to boycott KK Super Mart for allowing such socks to be on sale.
