Man Killed on LRT Track at Puchong Station

Man walked 30 metres on LRT track at Puchong station before fatal hit by train.

A man with a head injury was found sprawled on the LRT track at Pusat Bandar Puchong LRT Station.

The incident occurred at around 8am on Wednesday (Aug 1), confirmed Serdang district police chief ACP Ismadi Borhan.

Train services resumed as normal after the body was removed from the scene.

Ismadi said the victim had been sent to Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem.

Police ruled out foul play in the incident, classifying the case as sudden death.

“Closed-circuit television showed that the victim alighted the train (at Pusat Bandar Puchong station) and walked towards the no-entry zone.

“He then climbed the fence and continued walking on the track.”

Police are in the midst of ascertaining the victim’s identity as he was found without identification documents.

In a statement, Prasarana said, based on the CCTV finding, the man had intruded into the area when the station ceased its operations at 12.30am.

It said his body was spotted by the train captain this morning.

“The finding of the body had affected the train operation of the Sri Petaling Line as the electricity was temporarily cut to enable police to remove the body from the location.”

It said operations resumed at 9am.

The Puchong City Centre LRT Station has been in operation since March 31, 2016.
