In the ongoing Bersatu party polls, former Entrepreneur Development Minister Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof lost to former Puteri Umno chief Mas Ermieyati Samsudin in Masjid Tanah yesterday.
Mas Ermieyati collected 414 votes to Redzuan’s 328 to become the Masjid Tanah division chief in Bersatu’s inaugural party elections.
The third candidate, A Lukman Ab Ghani, garnered 227 votes.
Mas Ermieyati, who is also the Masjid Tanah MP, joined Bersatu after the last elections in December 2018.

The former deputy tourism, arts and culture minister had resigned from Umno in June 2018 to become an independent MP before joining Bersatu.
Meanwhile, former Rural and Regional Development Minister Rina Harun managed to win the Women’s chief position at the Sepang division with 168 votes.
