Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu vowed to expose the falsehoods propagated by Pas president who has been projecting an image of staunch Islamic adherence.
Mohamad Sabu or Mat Sabu said he would expose the real reason behind Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang’s decision to exit the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalition in 2015, in a “no holds barred” campaign in Simpang Jeram, in Bakri Muar, tonight.
“It’s high time for the people to know the actual reason…I had enough of Hadi claiming Pas left because DAP rejected Hudud.

“It’s time I expose how he misled the people, I will unravel all his lies one by one tonight,” Mat Sabu said.
“I wasn’t any Tom, Dick or Harry in Pas previously, I was the deputy president…so I am privileged to inside information, and tonight, I will tell it all….so Hadi can no longer hide behind his kopiah (skullcap) and deceive the people anymore,” he said.
Earlier, Hadi claimed that some members and former leaders left Pas to establish Amanah out of fear of losing an election.
Mat Sabu shot back claiming Pas and Perikatan Nasional (PN) were willing to exploit Islam for their political gain.
“They will use anything – even religion to deceive people…for instance in the recently concluded Aug 12 by-elections, in Selangor, their campaign centred around the closure of religious and Tahfiz schools.
“The fact is the schools were ordered to close because they did not adhere to regulations and standards, as decreed by the Selangor Sultan,” he said.
The Pulai parliamentary seat and Simpang Jeram state assembly seat became vacant following the passing of its incumbent, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, 61, on July 23.
For the Pulai parliament (P161) the candidates are Independent Samsudin Mohamad Fauzi, Bersatu’s Zulkifli Jaafar Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Amanah’s Suhaizan Kaiat Pakatan Harapan (PH).
For the Simpang Jeram state assembly seat (N13), candidates are Pas’ Dr Mazri Yahya (PN), Amanah’s Nazri Abdul Rahman (PH) and independent candidate S Jeganathan.
