Mat Sabu to Contest Kota Raja

Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, popularly known as Mat Sabu, will contest the Kota Raja parliamentary seat.

He is believed likely to face Selangor MIC Youth chief D Kajendran.

In a press conference, Selangor Amanah chief Izham Hashim announced that Mohamad will be replacing incumbent Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud for the seat.

Dr Siti Mariah, who is also the party’s national women wing’s chief, will now contest the Seri Serdang state seat.

Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, the former Kuala Selangor MP in 2008 when he was with PAS, will now be back to contest in the constituency.

The Shah Alam and Sepang constituencies will be defended by the incumbents Khalid Samad and Mohamed Hanipa Maidin respectively.

Activist and independent preacher Hasanuddin Mohd Yunus will be contesting the Hulu Langat parliament seat.

Mohamad said a total of five parliamentary and 10 state seats have been given to Amanah after reaching a consensus with the Pakatan Harapan leadership council.
