MISC Bhd announced that Tan Sri Noh Omar who was just appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors on June 1, 2020, has tendered his resignation, with effect from June 17, 2020.
“Tan Sri Noh Omar made the decision to tender his resignation upon discussion with the Honourable Prime Minister of Malaysia,” it said in a statement today.
Noh wished the MISC Board and its management all the best in spearheading the company to greater heights. Likewise, the Board of Directors of MISC wished Noh the very best in his future undertakings and endeavours.
Noh, who is also Tanjung Karang MP, was appointed as MISC chairman on June 1, succeeding Datuk Ab Halim Mohyiddin.
The 62-year-old had previously served as Entrepreneur and Co-operative Development minister from 2008 to 2009.
He was subsequently the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry minister from 2009 to 2013.
From 2014 to 2016, he had served as the Selangor Federal Action Council chairman before returning to the Federal cabinet as Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government minister from 2016 to 2018.
MISC, which is 57.56 percent owned by Petronas, is a world-leading provider of international energy-related maritime solutions and services.
