Intelligence gathered by police indicates that Beruas MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham, whose house in Ayer Tawar, Perak was hit by a Molotov cocktail early Wednesday (Jan 10), had no issues with the local community there.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the police probe of the incident had factored in intelligence gathered by the Special Branch and information from the public.

He said police would also determine if the incident was linked to any comments made by Ngeh.

“If there is an arrest then we will know if there is any connection,” he said when contacted Wednesday night.

“I urge the (people) not to speculate on this incident because the investigation is still ongoing,” he said.

Earlier, Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said police were hunting for the individual suspected of hurling the Molotov cocktail, which damaged the porch of Ngeh’s home and three vehicles in the compound.
