Motorcyclists Killed in Multiple-Vehicle Accidents on NSE near Sg Buloh

Two motorcyclists in two accidents separated by hours died on the North-South Expressway (NSE) near Sungai Buloh.

This morning, a motorcyclist died in a crash after he tried to avoid a broken-down trailer that had stopped on the emergency lane on the highway.The 7.30 am incident, which occurred during rush hour, also set off a chain-reaction accident that included two cars and a lorry.

 

It is believed that the victim had lost control of his motorcycle when he was avoiding the trailer, causing his motorcycle to crash, killing him on the spot.

A lorry then tried to avoid hitting the victim but spun a few times before slamming into the highway divider.

A BMW coming from behind also failed to stop in time and rammed into the lorry before a Honda City crashed into the highway barrier while trying to avoid the pile-up.

The drivers involved in the multiple-vehicle crash suffered minor injuries.

The body of the victim identified as 23-year-old Azrol Hilmy Azinuddin was taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital for postmortem.

Just several hours earlier, at 9pm last night, another motorcyclist was killed when he fell off his motorcycle and was run over by two cars trailing from behind on the same highway.

Thirty-year-old Khairul Anuar Johari died at the scene from severe injuries after the drivers of both vehicles failed to brake in time to avoid hitting him.

The victim, who was on his way home in Rawang, was believed to have lost control of his motorcycle and fell.

His body was also brought to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for postmortem.
