Pakatan Harapan leaders meet at the PKR headquarters for a second presidential council meeting in five days.
Among the first to arrive were Amanah’s Hatta Ramli and Mujahid Yusof Rawa at 5.15pm.
DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang and secretary-general Lim Guan Eng showed up together 10 minutes later.
Also attending the meeting are PKR’s Sim Tze Tsin and Fahmi Fadzil, and DAP’s M Kula Segaran.
Asked about the meeting’s agenda, Guan Eng said: “(It is) about what will happen tomorrow.”
Pakatan MPs are expected to be interviewed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara tomorrow on who they support as the next prime minister.
Asked about his meeting with interim prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today, Guan Eng said briefly: “We discussed.”
This evening’s presidential council meeting is the first since Bersatu quit PH and Dr Mahathir resigned as prime minister yesterday.
The Malaysian Insight reported that the PH presidential council will discuss Dr Mahathir’s offer of a “unity government” tonight, according to a source.
Reuters reported today that Dr Mahathir had made the suggestion after meeting various leaders today.
Among the leaders he met were Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s Abang Johari Openg, Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.
He had also met former PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali.
