A ruckus occurred in the Dewan Rakyat today when Ahmad Marzuk Shaary (PAS- Pengkalan Chepa) was evicted from the House for calling Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng “pondan” (transvestite).
This came after Ahmad and Lim exchanged barbs over the allegation that the “DAP-controlled Finance Ministry and government” had opened up bumiputera-only government contracts to other races.
Lim had refused Ahmad’s repeated request to interject and clarify points, which led to use of the word against the DAP secretary-general.
“Saya anak jantan. Bukan pondan macam Bagan (I am a man. Not a pondan like Bagan),” the religious teacher shouted at Lim, who is also Bagan MP.
Consequently, deputy speaker Mohd Rashid Hasnon ordered Ahmad to leave the House for refusing to apologise for uttering the word “pondan”, and suspended him for two days.
Following Ahmad getting the boot, PAS and Barisan Nasional members walked out of the Dewan Rakyat.
