PKR will be submitting a letter of demand for RM10 million to Kuala Langat MP Dr Xavier Jayakumar for leaving the party last month.

PKR treasurer-general Lee Chean Chung said the letter would be delivered by the party’s lawyer to Xavier tomorrow, and the former PKR vice-president is given up to seven days to settle.
“Any elected representatives who decide to leave the party will face the same faith, in which they have to pay RM10 million as agreed,” the Semambu assemblyman told reporters when met at the Indera Mahkota 2020 branch annual general meeting in Kuantan today.
In March, Xavier suddenly quit PKR and pledged support for the Perikatan Nasional government as an independent MP, sparking accusations that it was deal for the MACC to drop an active investigation of him.
Meanwhile, Lee – the Indera Mahkota branch head – said the meeting today made two resolutions to reject any co-operation with former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and that the branch candidate in the 15th general election should be a local resident.
