Anwar Ibrahim said his meeting with the prime minister yesterday did not discuss the matter of power transition.

The PKR president said he and Dr Mahathir Mohamad talked “generally” about the need for certain issues to be referred to the Pakatan Harapan presidential council.

“We didn’t discuss anything specific. It was a heart-to-heart discussion between two people, and he gave explanations on a few things. However, I didn’t bring up cabinet matters and I didn’t lobby (for a cabinet post).

“It was just a coincidence that I went to see him yesterday. I don’t want people to think that I went there to lobby (for a cabinet post),” he told reporters after attending the International Unity in Diversity 2020 Conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

The event saw Muslim leaders and scholars from around the world exchanging ideas and views on issues affecting Islamic countries.
