A 19-year-old male college student stole a pistol from a shooting club and is believed to have shot himself in the toilet of a private college in Subang Jaya.
The student’s body was discovered by a cleaner at 5.56pm on Tuesday (June 26).
According to Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohammad Azlin Sadari, the victim’s body was discovered along with the pistol beside him.
“The student has been studying at the college for about 10 months.
“He was also a member of the shooting club since 2015,” he said.
He added that the victim had allegedly stolen the weapon from the club some two hours before the body was discovered.
“The deceased, who was doing a quantity surveyor course in a college in Subang Jaya, apparently locked himself in a toilet and shot himself that day with the pistol he stole,” Azlin said.
“The victim’s father also stated that the boy had been suffering from depression since a year ago,” he added.
The case had been classified as a sudden death.
