The police are still looking for PKR president Anwar Ibrahim’s political secretary, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, in connection with an alleged assault case in Ampang last Saturday.

Selangor Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief Fadzil Ahmat said Farhash was the main suspect in the case.

“We have asked Farhash to come and assist in our investigation but he has failed to do so,” said Fadzil.

He, however, said three other suspects had surrendered themselves to the police, and have been remanded for further investigation.

“The three men surrendered this morning about 11.40am at the Ampang Jaya police headquarters,” he said.

He added the men were aged between 35 and 26 years old, and are all involved in Muay Thai martial arts coaching.

A remand order will be applied against them in court tomorrow.

Fadzil said one of the suspects had a previous criminal and drugs-related record, and was on the Cheras police’s wanted list. The other two had no criminal record.

The police said yesterday that Farhash and 10 others allegedly assaulted a boxing coach outside Kompleks D’Star Arena on Merdeka Day.

In the 9pm incident, it is believed a fight broke out between at the complex in Ampang. The ruckus began when the suspect arrived at the centre and pushed the boxing coach in the face, police said.

“When the victim reached the motorcycle parking area, he was attacked by 10 other men with helmets, chairs and a knife.

“As a result, the victim suffered lacerations and wounds on his body,” police said.

Fadzil said the case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for possessing weapons or missiles at a riot.

In a statement yesterday, Farhash said he was ready to give his full cooperation on the matter, although a police report was made naming his brother.

He also said that the complainant had once attempted rape and sexually assaulted his wife two years ago, adding he was arrested and faced trial for the charges.

Farhash, who is also PKR Perak chairman, was thrust into the limelight recently when he was arrested, along with Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz and seven others, over police investigations into several sex videos implicating Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali.
