Former PKR vice president Chua Tian Chang will stand in the 15th general election as an Independent candidate in the Batu parliamentary seat.
Better known as Tian Chua, the former two-term Batu MP was spotted arriving at the Batu nomination centre at SMK Sentul Utama, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah at 8am on Saturday (Nov 5).
“I am here because I made a promise to Batu constituents in the 14th General Election that I would come back to see to their expectations. At this moment I have not resigned from PKR but I am prepared to face any action from the party,” he said.

Tian Chua arrived with supporters wearing white T-shirts saying “I’m back”, and the group chanted slogans including “Hidup Tian Chua”.
Chua would be up against PKR’s P Prabakaran, MIC’s vice-president A Kohilan Pillay, and potentially Warisan, as well as other Independent candidates such as lawyer cum activist Siti Kasim.
