Wee Jeck Seng Takes Oath as Tg Piai MP

The Parliament session started today with the swearing-in of MCA’s Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng.

Wee who won the Tanjung Piai parliamentary seat last Saturday was sworn in at the Dewan Rakyat at 10am, just before the session started.

The swearing-in ceremony was done in front of Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof.

After Wee took his oath, Ariff congratulated him on his triumph.

“I congratulate Wee Jeck Seng for his victory in the Tanjung Piai by-election on Nov 16,” Ariff said.

“Dewan Rakyat has the highest status in formulating the laws of the country for the sake of all Malaysians.

“I am sure the honourable (Tanjung Piai MP) will implement his duty with honour according to the supremacy of the institution. I wish the member will serve excellently,” he added.

With Jeck Seng’s victory, MCA now has two parliamentarians. Previously, MCA president Wee Ka Siong was the sole MP in the House.
