After resigning from the board of SME Corporation, Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid has made a cryptic post on Instagram, which apparently takes a swipe at others who have not resigned from government posts.
On April 10, the daughter of Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi posted a picture of her April 6 resignation letter from the board of SME Corporation, which she was appointed to.
The accompanying text hinted at the politics her father Ahmad Zahid is facing within Umno.
“A post which I was appointed to, I give up voluntarily. A post for which one was elected in a valid election must be defended!” she stated in the post accompanying her resignation letter.

“My question is, who has got no telor now?” Nurulhidayah said, using the Malay euphemism for courage.
SME Corporation is an agency to implement development programmes for small and medium businesses under the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry.
In the resignation letter, addressed to Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, Nurulhidayah said that her resignation took effect immediately.
“I also thank the SME Corporation Malaysia for having given me the opportunity to serve as a board member,” wrote Nurulhidayah.
She was appointed to the SME board on Jan 4 this year.
She had said that she was appointed because she was qualified to do the job and not because of her father’s influence.
At the Umno annual general meeting on March 28, Ahmad Zahid said that all Umno ministers in the Perikatan Nasional government must resign when the Umno supreme council decides to cut ties with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.
However, after a meeting with Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin the next day, all Umno ministers and deputy ministers said that they would not be resigning as there was no party resolution for them to resign.
