Perak police chief Razarudin Husain said they obtained the forensic report from the Chemistry Department on Monday.

“We have obtained forensic and medical reports from the Chemistry Department and hospital, while the investigation paper has been forwarded to the state prosecution director’s office for further action,” he said after the Perak police headquarters’ monthly assembly in Ipoh today.

Razarudin said the medical report would then be submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers in Putrajaya for further action.

On July 8, a 23-year-old Indonesian woman lodged a police report alleging that she was raped by state Housing, Local Government, Public Transportation, Non-Muslim Affairs and New Villages Committee chairman Yong at his residence in Meru.

Yong was arrested and released on bail after giving his statement to the police.

Medical examinations were performed on both Yong and the Indonesian as part of the investigation.

The Indonesian worker is now in a “safe house” in Malaysia under the care of the Indonesian embassy.

Yong has denied the allegation but said he is prepared to take temporary leave if the investigation into the allegation is prolonged.

The case has been classified under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
