The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) will make a decision soon on the recommendations of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) regarding the procurement of the littoral combat ships (LCS).
If the AGC allows the proposed recommendation of MACC, it will lead to the prosecution and trial of those involved in the fiasco.
Utusan Malaysia quoted Attorney General Tan Sri Idrus Harun as saying that he hasn’t made any decision on the recommendation but will come forward with a decision soon.
“The AGC will make a decision soon, as such, please bear with us,” the daily quoted him as saying on Monday (Aug 15).
Earlier the daily had reported that an operations director was a person of interest eyed by the MACC on the LCS project probe.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has urged the MACC and AGC to act fast on the revelation of discrepancies in the LCS procurement. – The Star
