The release of a closed-circuit television (CCTV) recording from a hotel where an alleged sex affair involving Mohamed Azmin Ali took place, which did not show the minister, proves the existence of a plot against the PKR leader, said his aide.

Azmin’s political secretary Hilman Idham said the release of the clip yesterday also creates more doubt on the whole issue, reported Berita Harian.

“The CCTV clip only proves that there is a political conspiracy against Azmin. The original video clips and the CCTV clips also create more doubts,” he was quoted as saying.

“In fact, the CCTV clip has been edited to create certain perception among the public. However, those behind the clip have failed to prove that it is Azmin,” he said.

The CCTV clip was uploaded on video sharing platform YouTube yesterday, allegedly showing recording from the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Sandakan, Sabah.

The four-minute long clip purportedly shows the footage taken at the elevator banks with the timestamp showing the early hours of May 11, from around 12.23am and 2.21am and also the hallway to one of the hotel room floors between 12.23am and noon.

The video featured captions in between the clips, insinuating former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz was trying to stealthily meet Economic Affairs Minister Azmin in his room that night.

Hilman was also shown walking along the corridors of the floor in the clip. However, no image of Azmin was visible.

On June 12, Haziq had confessed to being one of two men in a series of sex video clips and claimed that the other was Azmin.

Azmin has since denied any involvement in the sex video, dismissing it as a plot to destroy his political career.

Haziq, meanwhile, was sacked from PKR last night with immediate effect for accusing a party leader of corruption without evidence. – TMI
