A director of Syarikat Juta Kelulut Global Resources who was remanded at six different districts, she claimed trial at the magistrate’s court to a charge of cheating Zainol Ahmad, 51.

‘Datuk Anggun’, whose real name is Siti Norbaiyah Yahya, allegedly cheated Zainol by having him surrender RM30,000 to her as payment to build a house on a piece of land belonging to the victim.

The 42-year-old is accused of committing the offence at a location in Jalan Dato Ali, Kangar, at about 5pm on Dec 23, 2015.

She was charged under Section 420 of the Penal Code which carries up to 10 year’s jail and whipping and also fine, upon conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Nisla Abd Latif urged the court to set bail at RM30,000.

However, Siti’s lawyer Syed Muhammad Anwar Syed Lokman pleaded for a lower bail amount as his client is a single mother and has five children to support.

Magistrate Mohd Azhar Hamzah set the bail at RM6,000 with one surety and fixed Nov 23 for mention date.

Meanwhile, the Bukit Mertajam magistrate’s court rejected a four-day remand application for DBI Properties managing director Nuruliman, better known as Boy Iman, after hearing lawyer Faizul Mohd Nasir’s submission that his client had been brought all over the country to be remanded.

Boy Iman had previously been remanded six times in other states, with the last remand being in Kangar, Perlis.

He was released at the central Seberang Prai district police headquarters on Sunday.

The court also rejected the remand application for three other directors of the company.
