Persatuan Anak Peneroka Felda Kebangsaan (Anak) wants the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to press on with investigations into the Jalan Semarak land title controversy.

A whistleblower group representing Felda settlers, Anak has threatened to expose more wrongdoings in Felda in the last four years if the MACC failed to investigate the transfer of ownership of its land in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur, FMT reported yesterday.

Anak president Mazlan Aliman, accompanied by Amanah Youth deputy chief Faiz Fadzil, had earlier handed over a memorandum to the MACC.

“They will be revealed soon. We are preempting you now. The Jalan Semarak land case is only one of the issues with Felda,” Mazlan was quoted as saying.

He alleged that there were a dozen controversial investments involving Felda Investment Cooperation (FIC) as well as abuses linked to abandoned housing projects meant for second-generation Felda settlers.

Questioning the MACC for dismissing elements of corruption in the Jalan Semarak land issue before a proper investigation, Mazlan was quoted as saying that “investigations should have been carried out before any decision is reached.”

Berita Harian reported last week that Felda risked losing ownership of its land in Jalan Semarak, which is believed to have a market value of about RM1 billion, following a “dubious” transfer of the land title involving some RM200 million in 2015.

The MACC said it found no element of graft or abuse of power in its probe, adding that it had to do with weak management and breach of trust.

Meanwhile, Faiz urged the MACC to not close the file as the investigations have not been completed.

“Isa has said that he has not been called to MACC.

“How do you make the conclusion that investigations were carried out when the most important witness has not been investigated?

“How did MACC then decide that there was no element of corruption in the case?” Faiz was quoted saying.

He added that MACC must also investigate the prime minister as he was in charge of Felda.

“He had known about this issue since February this year. Why did he not order investigations at that time?” Faiz reportedly said.

“I ask Najib to come to MACC and have your statement recorded.”
