Azmin’s aide admits meeting Haziq who claims he was forced to deny it was Azmin in the video.
The individual at the centre of the gay sex videos targeted at Mohamed Azmin Ali has questioned the Pakatan Harapan government’s sincerity after ruling politicians took turns to accuse him of having a political agenda in coming out with a confession clip early yesterday.
Haziq Aziz, the private secretary of Deputy Primary Industries Minister Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, said he was abandoned by party colleagues, adding that Azmin’s aide had approached him in an attempt to force him to retract the claims.
A Facebook account under Haziq Abdul Aziz’s name has claimed that the Santubong PKR Youth chief and party deputy president Azmin Ali had been intimate on previous occasions and accused the economic affairs minister of being a “sick man”.
The account, where a confession purportedly by Haziq was posted yesterday, also accused PKR Youth deputy chief Hilman Idham of being Azmin’s “henchman” who forced Haziq to deny his liaisons with Azmin.
Hilman is also Azmin’s political secretary.
It is not clear if the post is genuine, as Santubong PKR chief Ahmad Nazib Johari was quoted saying by the Borneo Post yesterday that Haziq has denied being in the sex video of two men and also in the confession clip.
Haziq himself has not been reachable since the video of his confession was released yesterday.
In today’s post, Haziq said Azmin sent Hilman to meet him to get him to hide the minister’s identity.
Meanwhile, Hilman filed a police report this morning and told reporters in Putrajaya that he had met the real Haziq, but declined to disclose what they discussed.
The Gombak Setia assemblyman only said his police report contained the details of what transpired and he would let investigations proceed.
“I have lodged my report with the police and they have recorded my statement as a police witness. We will give our full cooperation to the police and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) on all investigations.
“I am confident that these are false and evil accusations designed to tarnish the good name of Datuk Seri Azmin and I firmly state that this is an evil conspiracy to halt Azmin’s political career and his success as economic affairs minister,” said Hilman.
He explained that he lodged the reports in his capacity as Azmin’s political secretary.
The qazf report was filed at the Jawi office in Putrajaya at around 11.45am while the police report was lodged with the Putrajaya police headquarter’s Criminal Investigations Department earlier.
Qazf is an Islamic term for when a person accuses another of adultery without the support of four male Muslim witnesses of impeccable character. It is considered a Shariah offence in Malaysia.
When asked if the reports were over the videos or Haziq’s confession to being the other person in the clips, Hilman said it was for the former.
Hilman added that the authorities should now be given space to investigate the videos and related allegations.
