Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) raided Jho Low’s upscale residence yesterday.
A raiding team from the MACC raided a serviced apartment unit in Kuala Lumpur belonging to Jho Low on June 27.
FMT reported that the raid was based on information provided by a former aide to Najib who is currently under the custody of the MACC. The man, a Datuk in his early 40s, apparently informed the MACC and police that all 1MDB secret meetings were held and discussed in Low’s serviced apartment unit.
MACC investigators uncovered some cash in a safe and several documents in the apartment situated along upscale Jalan Kia Peng.
The raid at unit 20-2 (South Core), 3 Kia Peng Apartment, 3 Jalan Kia Peng, Kuala Lumpur, was linked to the ongoing investigations into the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal.
It is understood that officers had to break into the main door to the unit.
Based on photographs of the raid from the MACC, the unit appeared unoccupied and contained a small office.
According to iproperty.com.my, the median price for the property is RM3 million while the median rental price is RM7,000, Malaysiakini reported.
