A former aide of ex-federal territories minister Khalid Abdul Samad has been arrested and is under remand to facilitate police investigations into alleged corruption.
Khalid on Twitter confirmed this and identified the person as his former political secretary Azli Yusuf.
“He was remanded based on a complaint by an architecture firm that was given a fake development order by a broker,” the Pakatan Harapan lawmaker said.
He said the broker had received benefits by using Azli’s name in order to secure the development order for the firm.
“I cannot say more as the case is still under police investigation.
“I was informed that the broker received millions of ringgit by using another’s name,” he said in a second tweet.
Khalid’s tweets followed news that Bukit Aman police are probing into allegations of corruption involving a former minister from the PH administration.
According to a Free Malaysia Today report, the allegations involve several developers in Kuala Lumpur.
A report has also been lodged with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission. – TMI
