Lawyer and activist Siti Kasim has been sued for RM2 million, for allegedly defaming Islamic preacher Firdaus Wong Wai Hung.
Wong, who said Siti defamed him on social media, posted a notice on the suit on his Facebook page today.
“After consulting my lawyer, an RM2 million legal action has been filed against Siti Kasim over the slanderous comments she made about me.”
He said he will also sue another person for defamation.
“This is my second suit, after I was slandered by Arunakiri Nathan… This will not be the last. Next week, another high-profile individual will also be sued.
“Enough of these attacks by those who speak too freely and do whatever they want without legal repercussions. The days of us staying silent are over. We must retaliate with facts and legal action.”
However, Wong did not say what Siti uttered about him. He also did not disclose where the suit was filed, or name the lawyer representing him in the case.
Last month, Siti challenged Wong to a debate on Islamic dakwah (missionary work) and the alleged forced conversion of Orang Asli.
In his post today, the preacher said his suit against the lawyer is not over the debate challenge. – TMI
