“My conscience is clear,” says Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who described the criminal breach of trust charges filed against him on Thursday (Oct 25) as “dumbfounding”.
“The decisions (concerning the money mentioned in the charges) were taken in the interest of the nation.

“When you receive certain money, you have to pay it back, otherwise you would be in default. And that could lead to a lapse in the bond market, which is very serious,” said the former premier outside the Kuala Lumpur Courts Complex.
Najib said the charges against him did not make sense.
He added that the charge sheet was only given to the defendants five minutes before deliberations.
“This is not something that should have happened,” he said.
Najib also asked the public to not assume that the money had simply vanished.

“Don’t assume that the money has disappeared. It has not. Whatever we did, we can prove in court that it was done with the interest of the country in mind, God willing.”
The former premier left the court complex at around 2.40pm. A group of supporters gathered around him for a short prayer before leaving. – The Star
