The lawyer for Abdul Razak Baginda has urged the attorney-general to take action for contempt of court against those issuing statements about a statutory declaration by Altantuyaa Shaariibuu’s killer, Azilah Hadri.
“The matter concerns and impacts an ongoing Shah Alam High Court civil suit and is in the circumstances, sub judice,” said lawyer Manjeet Singh Dhillon.
Altantuya’s family filed a RM100 million civil suit against Azilah, Sirul, Razak and the Malaysian government.
Manjeet said: “The Attorney-General, who is involved in the civil suit, should immediately takes steps and institute contempt proceedings against all and everyone who are coming out with these statements and prejudicing that trial.
“We have yet to see any review application and will comment further on it when we have it in hand and know precisely what is being sought and why.”
Federal police have said they have yet to see the statutory declaration.
