Dr Dzulkefly’s statement today did not identify the hospital, but it has been previously reported that the specialist in question was the head of department at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.
The service of the Orthopaedics department head (HoD), who was embroiled in sexual harassment allegations, has been terminated.
The HoD, who was serving in a hospital in the Klang Valley, was terminated on Nov 14, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
“The Yang Di-Pertuan Agong has consented to terminate the service of the said department head effective Nov 14.
“The termination letter has been sent to the department head on Nov 15,” said Dr Dzulkefly in a statement on Friday (Nov 16).
The committee was formed on Sept 24 to complete the information collection by an independent body tasked to investigate the harassment allegations against the HoD, he added.
In July, The Star carried an exclusive report in which house officers alleged that they were bullied and sexually harassed by the HoD. – The Star
