Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad drove himself around Klang Valley this morning to personally inspect developments in the city, according to Blogger Firdaus Abdullah who posted a video of the prime minister, who is known to drive himself around Putrajaya, behind the wheel of what appeared to be a Proton Perdana.
“Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad driving himself to monitor the latest developments around Kuala Lumpur this morning.
“Some ask where Dr Mahathir gets overflowing energy at 93 years old. May God always protect this statesman,” the political blogger wrote.
Known to be a car enthusiast, Dr Mahathir often gets behind the wheel during car launches.
During his tenure as the fourth premier, he developed a reputation for visiting public places almost incognito, with only a small security detail discreetly in the distance.
