To also take oath as Pagoh MP on Tuesday.

After a one-month medical leave since July 12, Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will be back to work next week but will still require six months of chemotherapy treatment, a treatment for cancer patients.

His press secretary Hafiz Abdul Halim said Muhyiddin will take his oath as Pagoh MP at the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (Aug 14) and that he will also be attending a few meetings.

“On the advice of doctors, he will also undergo follow-up treatment, including chemotherapy for six months to ensure there is no recurrence of his illness,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Hafiz added that Muhyiddin’s official duties will be limited as he undergoes the follow-up treatment to ensure he recovers fully.

The PPBM president was discharged from the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on Tuesday (Aug 7).

On July 12, he had undergone an operation to remove a pancreatic tumour that had been detected at an early stage.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been the acting home minister since Muhyiddin went on medical leave.
