Permatang Pauh member of parliament Nurul Izzah Anwar yesterday married Yin Shao Loong, a senior research associate at Khazanah Research Institute.

The 42-year-old said in a joint statement with her new husband that her father, PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, gave her away at an akad nikah ceremony at their family home on Aug 5.
The ceremony was attended by family members and close friends.
This is the second marriage for both Nurul Izzah and Yin.
Nurul is the eldest daughter of Anwar and former deputy prime minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Yin, 46, was previously former PKR deputy president Azmin Ali’s strategic communication’s director when the latter was the Selangor menteri besar.
He had also served as executive director of Institute Rakyat, a PKR think tank that was headed by Nurul Izzah.
Nurul had previously been married to businessman Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Ahmad in 2003. But the couple, who have two children, divorced in 2015.
Yin divorced his first wife, filmmaker Tan Chui Mui, three years ago. They have a son.
