An argument erupted on an AirAsia flight when a passenger from a standard economy seat plonked herself on a row of empty premium seats.
The 22-second video of the argument between the woman and a male passenger uploaded by Bruce Lam has gone viral on social media.
The footage shows a man in a white shirt shouting at a woman who is sitting on one of the premium seats on the plane.
Lam, in his post, said the incident took place on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong shortly before take off on March 2.
He said the woman had walked from her standard seat to the premium seats before the plane took off.
Other passengers who had paid more for their premium seats, which come with more leg room, were not happy with the woman’s action and one of them was Bruce Lam.
Lam said flight attendants spent four to five minutes arguing with the woman and asking her to return to her seat, which she finally did.
However, after the plane took off, the woman once again returned to the premium seats on two occasions.
Lam said flight attendants explained to the woman that her actions were not fair to the other passengers as they too were not allowed to use the premium seats even though they were empty.
“I do not know if the flight attendants were too gentle and polite, but the woman had a bad attitude – more than before. She was abusive and angry,” Lam said.
Despite the admonishment by the flight attendants, the woman refused to budge.
Irked, Lam is heard telling the woman: “The flight attendants have asked you for the third time to not sit here, but you still do it.”
The woman retaliates, saying it’s “none of his business”.
Lam says it’s definitely none of his business but he wants to tell her off because she is “shameless”.
The woman then gets up from the seat and returns to her original seat, staying there for the rest of the flight.
