A total of 12 Covid-19 clusters linked to Hari Raya celebrations have been detected so far, on the 13th day of the festive season, says health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Noor Hisham expected more such clusters to be detected in other states.
In a Facebook post, he said the 12 clusters have seen 470 Covid-19 cases, with 2,541 people screened. One of the patients, in the Jalan Tahir Manan cluster in Selangor, has died.
Meanwhile, two patients from the Simpang Sahari cluster in Labuan are currently in critical care.
“These figures are expected to rise and maybe involve more states,” he added.
Today, the health ministry reported a record high 7,478 Covid-19 cases, beating yesterday’s 7,289 infections, which was the highest daily spike at the time. – FMT
