Not clear when the flat was sold.
A property portal has reported that a luxury flat believed to have triggered the murder of Hong Kong socialite Abby Choi has been sold for HK$72.8 million (S$12.5 million – RM41.5 millon). The flat was originally listed for sale on the portal with an asking price of around HK$67 million, but it is unclear when it was sold.
On Monday, Choi’s mother filed a writ to prevent her former father-in-law, Kwong Kau, from selling the 1,820 sq ft luxury flat that Choi allegedly purchased under his name. Cheung Yin Fa, who represents Choi, asked the court to declare her daughter’s alleged killer, Kwong, 65, as only a trustee of the 1/F 117 Kadoorie Avenue property located in the exclusive Kadoorie Hill neighbourhood in Ho Man Tin and to prevent him from selling or dealing with it.
The writ filed by Cheung sought to declare Choi as the beneficial owner of the seven-year-old four-bedroom flat which includes a balcony. The flat was reportedly purchased for at least HK$70 million in 2019, which includes a HK$3 million stamp duty fee.

Choi is believed to have made the full payment for the flat as of October 2019.
The Kadoorie Hill neighbourhood has been home to some of the city’s wealthiest people for generations, including the late singer Leslie Cheung and actor Andy Lau.
